West Seattle New Construction DADU
Chain Construction was hired for this ground-up, detached additional dwelling unit (DADU) in West Seattle to double function as a pre-school and a place for guest to stay when the pre-school is not open.
The scope of this project included the following:
Project entitlements including: land use compliance, building, drainage, energy, fire, and zoning regulations
Seattle Public Utilities required the owner to provide a "build-over" of the existing storm drain which included a 40' sleeve (cased ductile iron pipe)
Temporary shoring was required along with a bridle from Seattle City Light shifting the power main for construction to take place
The unit is 701 SF and includes 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, a great room, kitchen, and laundry room
Exterior features include a 242 SF covered east deck, a 24 SF covered entry porch, and an EV Ready parking stall with driveway access from the alley
